Why is IE6 still so popular?
I always assumed that IE6 was still used so much because corporate users were still browsing on Windows 2000 systems.
The recent launch of IE8 has stimulated some debate around here and the general consensus in because of the widespread usage of pirate Microsoft XP installs. Oviously pirated Vista installs will be using IE7 but will this have a rollover effect on the usage of IE8?
So what I am now thinking is, why am I taking so much time to try and get things to work properly in IE6 just for peope who ar using pirated software?
I guess there will still be a lot of genuine IE6 users with proper fully paid up Windows 98/2000/XP installs so I will just keep making sites look 'ok' in IE6.
But if you are out there, using IE6 and are ignoring the update for IE7, please help us all and upgrade.
If your I.T. Department is dragging its feet with an IE7/8 rollout, let them know. You deserve a better quality of browsing experience.
Thanks for reading.
