Jargon - The layman's nemesis
If we use any jargon that you don't understand, we apologise. If you read anything in our web site that is in ything but plain English, please let us know.
We do reserve the right to use technical terms where necessary, but we will try to explain what they mean. If we don't, please tell us.
But what is jargon?
Dictionary dot com define jargon as ' the language, esp. the vocabulary, peculiar to a particular trade, profession, or group: medical jargon'. Hmm, I know what you are thinking. Jargon to explain jargon.
I prefer one of their other descriptions: ' language that is characterized by uncommon or pretentious vocabulary and convoluted syntax and is often vague in meaning'. That sounds a little more like the jargon of the computer world to me.
